How to make Fingerless Mittens inspired by Alice Cullen from the Movie "New Moon": ************************************** Knitting Abbreviations: CO: Cast-On dpn(s): Double-pointed needle(s) K: Knit P: Purl sts: Stitches **: Starting and ending point to repeat instructions M1R: Right Slant Increase M1L: Left Slant Increase PM: Place Marker SM: Slip Marker ************************************** Make 2 identical fingerless mittens: CO 36 sts over 2 dpns Rib Pattern: *K3, P3, K3, P3* to end, knit for 12 rows. Row 14-30: *Knit one row, Purl one row,* Thumb gusset increases: Row 29: After the 18th sts PM, then M1R, PM Row 30: K to end. Row 31: P to end. Row 31: K to 1st marker SM, M1R, work to next marker, M1L, SM, K to end. Work Gusset Increase every 3rd row, until you get to row 50. (You should have 15sts between the stitch markers). Row 51: K to 1st marker, remove marker, Place the next 15 sts on waste yarn; remove stitch marker and continue knitting to end. Row 52: P to end Row 53-64: Ribbing *K3, P3, K3, P3* to end. Row 64: Cast-Off Thumb: PU the 15 sts from waste yarn. Arrange sts on the needles to that there evenly spaced. Attach yarn and join in the round. When you get to the end M1L. Knit for two rows then on the 3rd row Cast-Off.
